crowdfunding : ARTproject – lotta continua * the battle goes on

This project is about former generations and their hopes about their future.

I got the idea 2008 while looking on photographs showing my daddies school mates in the year 1962. Unburdened schoolboys a view years before “1968” – the year of big changes in society :

And I asked myself which ideas and dreams this generation might have had, and how these changes in 1968 are still alive today. On the other hand, I also asked myself which achievements maybe got lost on the way or changed into the opposite now.

The schoolboys themselves looked quite similar to schoolboys nowadays- but a lot of things happend since then.

In conceptual artworks I will bring these items into a context:

  • Photographs from the PAST and TODAY, portraits of people , collages from magazines will be painted, collaged and reordered to a conceptual serie of artworks.
  • Different periods of time ( World war I and II, ex DDR, UDSSR, 1968 etc.) and different questions will be critically analysed.
  • At the end of the year I would like to produce a book with all the paintings and findings .
  • And last but not least: I will try to find an international gallery to exhibit the works!

Yes, I am an artist, I normally live from selling paintings, and of course paintings are more expressive than a print ever can be-
BUT, what should people do when they love  paintings, but can´t afford them?
OR, they do not have enough space in their appartments?

Thats really a problem for many people, they love art, and are not able to live with it.
Sad story, isn´t it?

But for me as an artist, it is more interesting to get an audience for my work, then selling a large painting once.
I believe in art as an important media for people who are willing to get in touch with different views of life.

Maybe I am stupid, or crazy, but I would love to see my – or others – Artprints in many of boring appartments arround the world!

The frau bOLZa story

Welcome to frau bOLZa design!

We are proud to present you this new design label, which is dedicated to prevent you with high quality design and art products like
fashion for dogs , pattern design, accessoires  and visual art.

My name is Alexandra Bolzer, I am visual artist and designer . As artist I work successfully for several years, but since 2011 I additionally work as pattern designer for a great agency in Vienna. There I learned again to use fabric and styles which inspired me for own projects.

Alexandra Bolzer aka frau bOLZa

First I was producing clothes for me, which was very wasteful and frustrating, so I started to make hats  for me, and for christmas presents to all my relatives . ( most of them were not really very happy about it ).
So last summer wie adopted a second dog called Sophi, and we needed additional clothes for her. As I was starting to crochet again, I try to make my first coat.. and after that, I saw, that it wont be that easy like I was thinking. I took this challenge and started to develop the first traditional wool coat.

I really liked that so much, that I thought the old coat from Fanny ( my first dog) is too ugly to go out with both girls .
So the story went on… several coats and sweaters later a new business was born.
